MAST Data Update

Many of you will have read Bruce's blog on the delay in the release of the UK road safety figures for 2016 with the much-awaited results published on the 28th September.

This hold up has meant we are unable to update the various MAST instances and dashboards that rely on the data as the information is not being released by the DfT until the end of the month.

As you will expect we have been preparing for this and hope to process the information within a week or two of receiving it which means MAST users will see rolling updates form the beginning of October.

We will be in touch again in a few weeks once the updates have started.

Is 9 Casualties Better Than 10? The challenge of evaluating with a lack of data and what we might do about it

For practitioners and advocates across our sector, Vision Zero is a moral goal, one which rightfully leads to us removing risk and creating layers of protection ‘systemically’ within the Safe System. But as we deliver this change together and casualty numbers on our roads (hopefully) come down, there is a challenge for evaluators: Less Data. How can we tell what works with a scarcity of outcome data?
